VW Gypsy cab project (Experiential)
Hands down, favorite creative ever produced. In part, because it had never been done before. Creative and Tech colliding. So much of it was figuring out how to make it happen. And we did.
To prove the new VW Rabbit was the ultimate city car, we conducted an experiment. We took Steve, a dude from Boulder, put him in a Rabbit and let him give New Yorkers free rides around town.
He had never driven in NYC before, but he definitely knew his way around a conversation. From a sword swallower on Coney Island to a beatboxer in Harlem, Steve picked up 100 fares in 14 days. In-car cams documented the journey. We edited the footage in real time, then broadcast the stories online - (this was 2006, mind you) at gypsycabproject.com. Digital TV before it was Digital TV.
